Jane Quinton
Borough Councillor for Panshanger (Welwyn Garden City) & Deputy Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Council
I am very proud to represent the residents of Panshanger on Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and this year I will also be the Deputy Leader of the Council and the Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure.
I was originally elected in Panshanger in 2019 and since then have had the real pleasure of meeting many of the residents in Panshanger. I have always tried to speak up for the Panshanger Community about the developments which will be taking place, trying to make sure that the details of the plans are fit for purpose, both on the Airfield and in the Birchall Garden suburb to the East of Moneyhole park and making sure residents are kept informed. I want to see good quality development with adequate infrastructure that responds to existing residents’ needs as well as the new residents. On a borough wide level I am also very keen to help advance Climate change Mitigation and adaptation by progressing whatever measures we can to reduce the impact of climate change and mitigate the effects it will bring. We also need to encourage ways to protect our wildlife and environment and maintain access to nature such as at Panshanger Park.
I am really looking forward to my new role in Cabinet – encouraging people to engage with the great facilities and Leisure, Community and Culture opportunities in Welwyn Hatfield and keeping a sense of community.
Of course I and my fellow Panshanger councillors, Darrell and Salman are also here to help you and it is one of the most rewarding parts of being a councillor when we can make someone’s life a little better or solve a problem with the council for them.
Please do come along to one of our monthly surgeries if you need advice or help or just want to share your views. These are held on Saturday mornings in Panshanger Community Hall at Moors walk between 10.00 – 11.00 on the first Saturday in each month. Alternatively, do get in touch with me by email, or give me call.
