Sandreni Bonfante
Borough Councillor for Welham Green & Hatfield South and Town Councillor for Hatfield South
It is my pleasure to represent Welham Green and Hatfield South at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, Hatfield South at Hatfield Town Council and as the Executive member for Environment at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.
Since being elected in 2022, I’ve been working hard to be a voice for the community both in and out of of the Council chamber. Welham Green and Hatfield South is a diverse community with many concerns and aspirations for what they want from their Council. Me and my colleagues Paul and Adrienne are doing what we can to make Welham Green and Hatfield South the best place to live and work. This involves dealing with issues that affect our residents. Including Parking, Fly tipping and maintaining our Green spaces.
In May 2023, I was given the privilege of becoming the Executive member for Environment. This has given us the opportunity to fix the appalling state of grass cutting in our borough, neglected by the previous Conservative administration. My other priorities for this position will be maintaining a high quality of waste collection both residentially and at recycling centres as well as combating fly tipping.
As Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council’s youngest Councillor as well as a former student of the University of Hertfordshire, I do my best to represent members of the community that often feel neglected by modern Politics. I also run the Welham Green friendship group, a monthly get together setting to combat isolation in older members of our community, which is even more important in a post Covid world.
