Wheat Quarter Consultation
Thank you to those of you who were able to attend the display at the Wheat Quarter last week.
We've spoken to many residents about the plans, and the view seems to be that the current plans are more favourable than the existing ones, which is a good start; the inclusion of houses and retaining the silos have been mentioned extensively and seem to be popular. There are concerns - many of you spoke to me about parking, both for flat-dwellers and those visiting the proposed leisure facilities. Others would like to know about affordable/social housing. All of the feedback I received will be passed to the owners.
The next stage will be for the developer to take the feedback and then submit a planning application; it is at this stage we will be able to see the finer details, including what the buildings will look like. At that point residents will be able to comment/object/support the application. We will be sure to let you know when the application is submitted.
Keep an aye on the WQ website (https://wheatquarter-consultation.co.uk) for details as they become available, or get in contact with your Lib Dem Councillor and we can help to explain the plans and process.
