Welham Green Tories thin on the ground at Council Meetings7.04.12pm GMT Tue 18th Dec 2007
The shock resignation of Welham Green Tory Councillor Peter O'Brien has left Welham Green with just one borough councillor. Coming after the controversy surrounding Grant Shapps being caught posing as a Liberal Democrat on an on-line forum during the Ealing Southall by-election, the local Tories must be wondering whether they can get anything right. Tory Excuses... The Welwyn Hatfield Times (right) reported that Councillor Davies had made excuses for non-attendance including he was 'incredibly busy' because he was a newly qualified barrister and in the TA. We're all busy, but politicians are elected to represent us, why can't the Tories manage that? Oh, but Cllr Davies says he "went to Sandhurst" - oh, that'll be alright then...
