QE2 Hospital cuts - don't send us up the A1 when we're dying!

Remember how Daniel fought to save the hospital? Now Tony is fighting in his place.

The government is insisting that our NHS Trust "breaks even" by 2008. If it doesn't then our proposed new hospital at Hatfield is at risk. This is why the Trust is being forced to make changes.

We ask:

• Why is Labour withdrawing the previous financial support for the Trust and insisting on £12m per year of savings? How much will it cost to preserve a "Blue Lights" service at QE2.

• Why should we have to put up with a poorer service locally?

And this when spending in the NHS will have grown from £33 billion in 1997 to £90 billion in 2007.

By the way, Grant (Save our Hospital) Shapps, just where would NHS funding be now if the Tories were in power?

Now Tony fights for everything Daniel also stood for. (photography: Louise Lotz)

And another thing! You only have till 22 March to object.
