Action on grass verges delayed again

News that there will be another delay in considering taking action to make illegal the parking on grass verges and footpaths has dismayed Lib Dem county and borough councillor Malcolm Cowan, who has been leading the demands for action.
He said 'There was a clear signal 3 months ago that this next meeting (due next week) of the local highways panel would make a decision after 2 delays. This is the 3rd such delay - 9 months have passed and no discussion, still less a decision. Clearly the ruling Conservatives are scared of saying 'no' before the elections, so are delaying again.
'The clear message from Welwyn and Hatfield Times readers to clear up the verges is being ignored. To add insult to injury, a Conservative election leaflet claims they are taking action when they are not' he added.
